Action Learning Facilitators Programme

Posted on:

Some people have a knack for helping others work their way through complex and uncertain problems. They ask the right questions, make sure everyone is included and transmit a sense of calm confidence.

Is this you?

If so, you could be the ideal candidate for our pilot programme which will train around 40 people as Action Learning Facilitators.

Action Learning is a technique which can be summed up as group coaching.  It was developed in the UK and is now widely used in public and private sector organisations worldwide.

Successful applicants for the programme will need to demonstrate:

  • Belief in people’s ability to make significant changes
  • Experience of coaching, facilitation or influencing positive change
  • Scope to use action learning facilitation as part of their NHS role – this could include work with networks, stakeholders, or service users.

You will be expected to complete 45 hours of guided learning including:

  • Active participation in three half day virtual learning sessions
  • Three half day learning sets
  • At least 20 hours self-study.

During the programme you will be expected to maintain a reflective diary, and to facilitate part of a live learning set; and there will be multi-perspective observation and feedback on your contribution both as a set member and as a facilitator.
