SUMMARY:Mentoring Masterclass (Option 1)
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to offer masterclasses to build on existing skills and knowledge as a mentor. These sessions are structured as two sessions with linking themes; please ensure that you can attend both Part A and Part B of this option. \nOption 1 \nBoth sessions (a & b) must be attended of option 1: \n Part A: 7/11/2024    1:00pm – 4:00pm \nPart B: 5/12/2024   1:00pm – 4:00pm \nPart A will focus on: The mind-set of being a mentor by\n• introducing you to the skills and attitudes of being a mentor\n• building confidence in fulfilling the role of mentor\n• providing framework(s) that will support being an effective mentor\no Beginnings\,\no Middles\, and\no Endings\n• Including the quality assurance of mentoring by building quality relationships\, and ensuring each mentee has a consistent experience \nPart B will focus on: The application of mentoring tools\n• Deploying the mentoring mind-set introduced in Session A\n• Experimenting with tools and techniques to ensure the accountability of the mentee sits appropriately\n• Techniques which help deepen the mentoring relationship\n• Sharing of ‘live encounters’ (protecting confidentiality)\, tips and tricks\n• Tools to support the conversations outlined above. \nThese sessions are open to all mentors across the NEY region\, including those supporting in-house mentoring offers. It is not necessary to have completed an accredited pathway such as ILM5 Coaching and Mentoring but attendees should have accessed some mentoring development and have acted as a mentor to benefit from these sessions. Should demand exceed capacity preference for places will be given to those who are registered as a mentor within the regional hub; you can register as a mentor on the hub here.\nPlease be aware that joining instructions for this event will be sent out seven days before the scheduled day. \nIf you register with the waiting list\, please hold this date in your diary as last minute cancellations may happen. SUMMARY:Manager as Coach: Teams & Teaming in Turbulent Times
DESCRIPTION:This interactive workshop is aimed at managers at all levels and roles\, and those aspiring to their first management role. Join us to gain insight and skills in understanding and responding to shifting team dynamics.\nMost managers have found themselves leading a team through periods of change and uncertainty; it can be challenging feeling that as the manager you are the person with all the answers. Creating a sense of shared endeavor is essential\, but can be difficult to achieve. \nDeveloping this leadership skill can support you in empowering and engaging your teams though relationships grounded in trust. If you recognise the need to support your team through change\, and to develop your skills in increasing engagement\, this workshop could be for you. \nThis session will explore:\nThe lifecycle of teams\nTeams and teaming\nThe impact of change & uncertainty\nFinding “the best of what is” within the team \nNB: This workshop is focused on the leadership skill set and is not positioned as coach training\, or as coaching CPD. However\, practicing coaches are welcome to attend.

DESCRIPTION:The Global Code of Ethics requires coaches to possess the necessary qualifications and actively participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Supervision. Accessing supervision is deemed crucial for supporting the well-being and professional development of coaches and the coaching field.\nThe Supervision Café offers accredited coaches an opportunity to engage in group supervision. In this setting\, coaches can collectively address current challenges in their practice. The format is informal\, with facilitated supervision that includes: \n• Storytelling: Coaches share both positive and negative experiences from their work with clients\, along with the associated learning. \n• Exploring Challenges: A designated space for coaches to thoughtfully consider and navigate barriers to effective practice. \n• Celebrating Success: Recognition of the collective and individual impact of coaching\, with exploration of ways to replicate success. \n• Future Planning: Coaches collaborate in identifying common themes to inform the planning of future supervision sessions and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.
