The Managers Toolbox: Collaborative Problem Solving

The Managers Toolbox offers a series of sessions with the aim of strengthening and developing skills and awareness around managing people, processes and problem solving.These workshops are open to staff holding a line management role, which has opportunities for cross boundary working.

Collaborative Problem Solving will explore the differing defintions of problems (wicked, complex and simple), and consider approaches for effective enabling/facilitating of a group to develop ownership of actions and solutions.

This session is for you if you are a current line manager in any role seeking to :-
• Consider the benefits of working in collaboration on individual and shared problems in the context of systems and the absence of formal authority
• Learn to identify the type of problem and the most appropriate collaborative approach to determining resolutions
• Participate in a ‘skills lab’ to experience in real time the use of collective approaches and practice facilitation
