Celebrating the Success of the NELA Leadership Conference: Future Focussed Leadership

Posted on:

We’re delighted to share that last week’s NELA Leadership Conference: Future Focussed Leadership was a great success, with a fantastic turnout of over 80 attendees from across the North East and North Cumbria region.

The day had a positive feel – people were pleased to come together in person, and there was a real sense of energy and connection.

The conference centred around the NHS Management and Leadership Code – Self, Team, Organisational, and Wider System focus – offering fresh perspectives on how we can grow our leadership impact and contribute to effective, safe healthcare systems.

Our keynote speakers opened the event with insights that set the stage for a day of learning and reflection. This was followed by interactive learning labs with 15-minute round table discussions that encouraged idea-sharing. Afternoon workshops then offered space for practical learning.

We also featured poster presentations showcasing current and past work from organisations across the region. These focused on the four key areas anticipated to shape the Leadership & Management Framework launching later in 2025.

Thank you to all those who submitted posters into leadership practice across our system. Congratulations to our poster presentation winner on the day: Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust!

We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the day possible – from our inspiring speakers and those who generously volunteered their time to support the event, to all the attendees who came along and fully engaged with the sessions. Your involvement was key to making the day so engaging and impactful.

We’d love to hear your thoughts!
