Coaching CPD: Vertical Development for Leadership Coaches- An Introduction

This session is for: Accredited coaches who coach leaders- and are members of our Coaching Hub

When supporting a leader’s development, there are two interconnected aspects of growth we might focus on:

Horizontal Development – is lateral growth within a stage. We add more information, knowledge, and models to what we already know. Our current way of viewing things becomes more detailed, refined, and broad. We become increasingly skilled and knowledgeable from the stage we are at.

Vertical Development – is upward growth to a new stage. We expand our capacity to think, feel, and act in more complex and adaptive ways. We grow beyond our old meaning-making system and transform the way we see the world

As coaches supporting leaders with their development, we have a role to play in developmental coaching that supports coachee’s to evolve How they think not just What they think

This interactive workshop for leadership coaches will

•       Introduce the concept of vertical development
•        Explore the role of the coach in supporting the vertical development of leaders
•        Offer coaches insight into their own developmental worldview and its potential impact on the coaching dynamic
